The Term passivhaus is German and refers to a rigorous, voluntary standard for energy efficiency in a building which reduces the carbon footprint. This results in an ultra-low energy home that requires little energy for space heating or cooling. This is the first Passivhaus project that Pearce Homes has undertaken.

A contemporary crisp fresh white wall encircles this development of 3 & 4 bedroom homes, neatly enclosing the integral garages and main entrances, combining the modern look and privacy.

This project consists of the refurbishment of the ground floor to recreate the Samaritans offices, and the creation of a new flat to the first floor. A new entrance and new mains services were installed.

This project involved the erection of an extensive steel frame with blockwork and faced brickwork infill panels. Included are a large sports hall, with comprehensive staff and pupil changing areas, and gymnasium.

The construction and installation of a prefabricated modular classroom block which was fitted out to suit the school's requirements. The block featured a PV array, SUDs planters and larch cladding. The construction works were undertaken with minimal impact on the school activities.
